At the early age of seven, Dan started to draw. He went on to earn a degree in industrial design at the University of Michigan and worked in commercial art studios in Detroit, painting car ads. Then, with encouragement from a friend, he packed up and moved west to become a fine artist.
Of his art, Mieduch says, "I was never a working cowboy, but the cowboy and the West have an excitement - a certain humor and flair that reflect American values. I like to capture those things in my work."
