 American Impressionist Curt Walters is fiercely committed to plein air painting and to preserving the natural environment in which he spends most of his time. He recently shared his love of Grand Canyon and affinity for painting in natural light with fourteen contemporary plein air artists from Arizona, California, Colorado and New Mexico. Together they rafted and painted the canyon from the banks of the Colorado River for eight days. The resulting 200 paintings of seldom-seen vistas from the canyon floor will be exhibited in 2001. When not in museum exhibitions, original Curt Walters paintings can be seen in galleries throughout the United States.
